Scanly is building a mobile-first food barcode scanner that separates nutrition, processing and ingredient evidence. The scanner is not publicly available yet; the current page explains the planned experience and accepts beta applications.

Where the product data comes from
The planned seed catalog is Open Food Facts, an open, community-maintained database. It provides product identity, nutrition, ingredients, allergens and computed attributes. Community data can be incomplete, so every Scanly result will expose its source, freshness and completeness.
Designed for decisions, not diagnoses
The scanner will provide general product information. It will not diagnose conditions, replace the physical allergen label or provide individualized medical advice.
Questions, answered
Can I scan without creating an account?
That is the launch requirement. A scan should deliver value before signup; an account will be needed only for syncing history and saved preferences.
Is the scanner available now?
Not publicly. The current site is recruiting beta users while the product lookup and scoring pipeline are built and tested.
Will it replace allergy-label checks?
No. Users with allergies should always verify the current physical package because databases can be incomplete or outdated.
